Related Services
Related services is defined by the United States Individuals with Disabilities Education Act ("IDEA") as:
"transportation and such developmental, corrective, and other supportive services as are required to assist a child with a disability to benefit from special education..."[section 300.24(a)].
Children between the ages of 3 and 21, who meet the eligibility criteria in one of thirteen qualifying disabilities and who require special education services because of their disability can qualify for services under IDEA. During the evaluation process, the school determines what type of related service(s) your child may qualify for. Related services include
