“If you don't see what a child sees, then you're not looking hard enough.”

Progress Monitoring
Progress monitoring is a scientifically based practice used to assess your child's academic progress and evaluate the effectiveness of instruction that your child is receiving. Progress monitoring provides your child's educator with what they have learned and areas where your child still needs to focus.
Progress monitoring can be implemented with an individual student or an entire class. In progress monitoring, the teacher uses short tests to evaluate your child's progress in specific areas if necessary, and the teacher may test as often as necessary.
The teacher provides progress updates on your child's progress toward their IEP goals. Ohio Special Education Advocacy can help you not only decipher the information provided on these reports, we can partner with your child's IEP team so that these reports are delivered to you on a regular basis.
